On December 6th 2014, CNN shocked this country's financial community, with the headline: (quote) “China Surpasses U.S. To Become Largest World Economy.”

That can't be, we said. Not true. We blustered and sputtered.

But it was a limited sense.

It turned out that the headline was based on a Report from the International Monetary Fund, which measured the world's economy's by their output. How much a country produced.
